The Customer is one of India's leading food companies with a 100 year is among the most trusted food brands.
Their product portfolio includes Biscuits, Bread, Cakes, Rusk, and Dairy products including Cheese, Beverages, Milk and Yoghurt and their products are available across the country in close to 5 million retail outlets and reach over 50% of Indian homes.
They have a presence in more than 60 countries across the globe and their international footprint includes presence in Middle East through local manufacturing in UAE and Oman and are the No 2 biscuit player in UAE with a strong contention to leadership and have a similarly strong market position in the other GCC countries.
Pain Points
Following were the key challenges objectives of the project:
- Customer has multiple internal and external data providers who provide various data including:
- Brand tracking data
- Retail offtake data
- Household consumption
- Media GRP and spends
- Relevant master data from SAP
- The data is provided by different providers at different frequencies and formats and with no common basis of tying all of them together
- Due to the above preparing key KPI reports like their brand performance over months, their performance as compared to competition, ROl of media spend on sales etc. is a manual and cumbersome activity to be done on an ongoing basis
- Customer wanted to create a singe data lake where all these various source data is consolidated, harmonized and cleansed and then used for KPI reporting

- A single data consolidation and reporting platform based on Amazon Web Service Cloud platform and Tableau
- Getting data from multiple sources staged in S3 and consolidated in RedShift.
- Understanding data structures, quality and end reports requirements
- Designing To-Be Data model and logic for Extraction, Transformation and Aggregation
- Provisioning for aggregated data for reporting
- Creation of relevant Dashboards and reports in Tableau
